About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items, salads, sandwiches, and desserts using various kitchen appliances
- Assist Cook II with meal preparation and recipe modification
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes, polishing stainless steel, and cleaning equipment
- Sanitize kitchen tables, shelves, and floors, and vacuum dining areas
- Manage food supplies by transporting items to cold storage and stocking dining facility areas
- Adhere to all government food service regulations and safety practices
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in the food service industry
- Current Food Handlers Card (must be able to provide proof at date of hire)
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, fingerprints, and drug test
- Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a high-volume, institutional food service setting
- Certified Food Professional
