Culinary Arts - Prison Education - Adjunct Faculty

Responsibilities

• Teach Culinary Arts curriculum developed by the department to students in a correctional institution setting
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning through various teaching strategies
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department policies
• Employ appropriate instructional technology and multimedia-based instruction
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field
• Ability to provide face-to-face instruction in a safe and secure correctional environment
• Proficiency in using modern educational technology
• Strong professionalism and outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the content area
• Prior teaching experience
