CTE Academic Teacher - Healthcare Work-Based Learning

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on clinical instruction in healthcare pathways, including medical assisting and sterile processing.
• Create and maintain an engaging learning environment through lab simulations and skill demonstrations.
• Develop and update curriculum materials to supplement program learning objectives.
• Support student career readiness by guiding job search strategies, resume development, and interview preparation.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, academic progress, and records within the Student Information System.
• Build partnerships with community organizations and industry leaders to provide mentorship and work-based learning opportunities.
• Model professional healthcare industry standards and maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements

• Valid California CTE Teaching Credential in Health Science and Medical Technology.
• Previous teaching experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related healthcare field.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites across Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
• Ability to pass a Live Scan criminal background investigation and obtain jail clearance.

• Experience with project-based learning methodologies.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
• Experience working with underserved populations using a trauma-informed approach.
