CT Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) procedures according to established protocols
• Evaluate procedure requests and assess patients to determine appropriate protocols and methods
• Employ imaging systems, accessory devices, and patient positioning techniques to generate high-quality images
• Provide high-quality patient care, including education and assistance with anxiety reduction
• Prepare contrast media, perform venipuncture, and administer contrast under physician direction
• Apply radiation protection principles to limit exposure to patients, self, and the healthcare team
• Maintain technical imaging equipment and ensure the work area is clean and well-supplied
• Document imaging procedures accurately in Radiology information systems for correct charging and tracking
• Respond to patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures when appropriate

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training from an AMA-approved school
• Current ARRT registry
• Advanced CT certification required within 12 months of hire
• Illinois IEMA licensure
• Current CPR and BLS training
• Effective communication and excellent patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of prior CT experience
• Prior experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center
