CSSD Instrument Technician

Responsibilities

• Support the theatre team through the collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packaging, sterilisation, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices.
• Contribute to infection prevention and control to ensure overall patient safety.
• Maintain efficient workflow within the department and utilize available resources effectively.
• Promote and participate in all required standards, quality activities, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III or equivalent.
• Proven experience working in a CSSD environment.
• Competence across all CSSD areas, including scopes and surgical loan instrument reprocessing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• High level of understanding and ability to apply workplace OHS requirements.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
