CSPD Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all shift work, including receiving, decontamination, cleaning, assembly, high-level disinfection, and distribution of medical devices.
• Ensure adherence to all quality systems, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (university, state, and federal).
• Assist the manager with hiring, staff evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
• Manage employee productivity, timekeeping, and adherence to workplace schedules.
• Coordinate workflow and services between various departments to support patient care.
• Monitor and maintain sterilization documentation, equipment maintenance, and department inventory.
• Facilitate the adoption of Lean principles and continuous process improvements.

Requirements

• Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSMM (CFER, CER, CSPDT, or CSCRT).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in a scope reprocessing unit or Central Processing with scope reprocessing.
• Extensive expertise in High-level Disinfection and sterilization processes.
• Graduate of a formal sterile processing program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated competency in instrument tracking software systems.
• Associate Degree or higher.
