About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop trustworthy artificial intelligence for humanoid robots operating in hazardous environments
- Integrate computer vision, large and small AI models, formal reasoning, reinforcement learning, and robot control
- Conduct hands-on research using robotic platforms, multimodal sensors, and simulation environments
- Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers from Griffith University, CSIRO, and Cyborg Dynamics Engineering
- Apply research to industry-relevant scenarios including explosive ordnance disposal, mining, and construction
Requirements
- First-class honours degree or a research-based Master's degree (AQF Level 9)
- Strong academic background in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Robotics, or Machine Learning
- Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning frameworks
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embodied intelligence and autonomous systems
- Demonstrated passion for robotics and trustworthy AI
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
