Cryptocurrency Analyst

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complaints related to cryptocurrency theft for possible investigation
• Conduct analysis of cryptocurrency transactions using open-source and third-party tools
• Testify in grand jury and at trial regarding blockchain and cryptocurrency analysis
• Maintain expertise in blockchain analysis tools
• Search law enforcement databases for leads related to cybercrimes
• Represent DANY in inter-agency calls and meetings
• Work with digital forensics labs to trace and recover cryptocurrency assets
• Train analysts across the office in blockchain analysis tools
• Perform administrative tasks including drafting subpoenas and organizing records

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
• Level 2 requires at least one year of experience as a paralegal or analyst in the criminal justice system or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet/social media
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Knowledge of DANY Systems, LEXIS/NEXIS, or E-Justice
• Familiarity or interest in blockchain technology
• Experience with NFT phishing or cryptocurrency theft investigation
