Crude Trader

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial strategies for optimal sales and purchases of crude oil
• Optimize the portfolio of structured products through effective trading strategies and VaR utilization
• Proactively seek and evaluate market tenders to capture new business opportunities
• Facilitate entry into new markets by leveraging knowledge of illiquid markets and broker contacts
• Ensure all trading activity complies with internal risk governance policies and is accurately captured in reporting infrastructure
• Provide insights to the Analytics team to improve trading applications and fundamental analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree combined with professional crude trading experience
• Strong focus on physical trading with additional knowledge of derivatives
• Proven experience in new market entry and origination
• Demonstrated experience with Canadian pipeline ORBs/OBAs and/or Louisiana Sour crude
• Ability to establish broker and asset contacts to generate new business
• Track record of positive P&L and a deep understanding of risk management
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset
