Cross Markets Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and code quality.
• Implement effective unit and integration testing practices to ensure code reliability and readability.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Lead complex assignments and guide team members through structured projects, identifying new directions and cross-functional methodologies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python development.
• Strong database skills with SQL Server or MySQL, including complex query writing and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools including CI/CD (Jenkins, TeamCity) and configuration management (Chef).
• Experience with Git, JIRA, and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and common design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with code quality tools such as SonarQube or VeraCode.
• Familiarity with Pub/Sub messaging systems like WebsphereMQ or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of AWS technologies including Snowflake and Starburst.
• Previous experience working within the financial, banking, or investment banking domains.
