About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, and inverters
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics and test equipment
  • Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, and associated power infrastructure
  • Respond to emergency service calls to restore customer systems to operational status
  • Perform battery testing, capacity testing, and failure analysis
  • Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately
  • Mentor junior technicians and support field training efforts
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, or mission-critical electrical infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and power distribution systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, and battery testing equipment
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in confined or restricted-access areas
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, or ABB
  • Military background in electronics, avionics, power generation, or electrical maintenance
