About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, and STS units
- Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics and manufacturer documentation
- Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, and associated power infrastructure
- Respond to emergency service calls to restore customer systems to operational status
- Perform battery testing, capacity testing, and failure analysis
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately
- Mentor junior technicians and support field training efforts
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, or mission-critical electrical infrastructure
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and power distribution systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proficiency using multimeters, power quality analyzers, and battery testing equipment
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in confined or restricted-access areas
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, or ABB
- Military background in electronics, avionics, power generation, or electrical maintenance
