Critical Facility Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on operations and maintenance of critical systems to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety
• Complete work order requests accurately within the enterprise asset management (EAM) system
• Respond quickly to data center facility emergencies using established procedures
• Regularly inspect equipment, buildings, and safety routes to identify abnormal conditions or faults
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades
• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure all work meets Meta's standards and processes
• Utilize computerized tooling in a control room environment to monitor alerts and diagnose faults
• Work on a shift schedule, which may include nights and holidays

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance fields
• Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2+ years of experience
• Knowledge of electrical generation and distribution
• Knowledge of cooling technologies
• Knowledge of building control and fire protection systems
• Ability to lift 45 pounds or more and perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, and crawling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt engineering or agent orchestration
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices
