About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical electrical, mechanical, and integrated infrastructure systems to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for emergency and operational engineering support to resolve complex issues within critical environments.
  • Plan and maintain reliable operation of systems including UPS, emergency power generators, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and building automation systems.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and inspect facilities to determine the necessity of repairs.
  • Investigate technical issues to determine root causes, perform minor repairs, and coordinate with external service providers for escalation.
  • Support strategic initiatives and change management activities, including readiness assessments and stakeholder management.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for system improvements.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mission-critical facility infrastructure or a similar environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a relevant trade certification.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including electrical/mechanical planning for high-availability computer facilities.
  • Working knowledge of construction codes, by-laws, health and safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, database management, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • In-depth verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
