Critical Environment Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control System professionals supporting Microsoft's online services
• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in the datacenter
• Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter operations
• Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability to ensure optimal operational efficiency
• Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment incidents year over year
• Deliver on cost and energy efficiency initiatives
• Ensure routine reporting to effectively manage and analyze Power, Temperature, Relative Humidity, and SLA monitoring
• Establish and enhance strong working relationships with Engineering Groups and business partners
• Work with regional and global peers to share and build best practices across the datacenter portfolio

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in mission-critical service management (e.g., IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in a critical environment infrastructure)
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU)
• 5+ years of experience working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
• Experience managing budgets of $500k+
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience leading a diverse, technical team
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, CCNA, ITIL v3, PMP, or CDCP
• Experience working on large-scale Critical Environment projects
