Critical Care Nurse

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with healthcare team members to evaluate, plan, and implement patient care plans
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications orally, subcutaneously, or through an IV
• Provide basic bedside care including dressing changes, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
• Monitor patients for subtle or sudden changes in ventilation, renal, and cardiac status
• Quickly identify patient decompensation and alert the critical care team to initiate corrective action
• Monitor and adjust specialized electronic equipment such as cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, and oxygen pumps
• Act as a patient advocate by respecting the basic rights, beliefs, and values of the patient
• Communicate essential information regarding the patient's condition to family members and significant others
• Provide comfort and end-of-life care as required

Requirements

• B.Sc Nursing or GNM qualification
• Valid Nursing registration
• Experience in critical care monitoring and medication administration
• Proficiency in IV care and ventilator support
• Ability to manage specialized medical equipment in a home setting
