About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and environment to ensure safe care and treatment of patients
  • Provide one-to-one patient observation with continuous visualization at all times to ensure safety
  • Manage patient problems, including aggression, with competency and accountability
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team to carry out nursing interventions
  • Support patients in learning adaptive ways of coping

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Strong crisis management skills and the ability to handle complex, charged situations
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of prior experience in psychiatry or a related field
  • Experience working with specialized populations, including emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents, children, and families
