About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and environment to ensure safe care and treatment of patients
- Provide one-to-one patient observation with continuous visualization at all times to ensure safety
- Manage patient problems, including aggression, with competency and accountability
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team to carry out nursing interventions
- Support patients in learning adaptive ways of coping
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to handle complex, charged situations
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of prior experience in psychiatry or a related field
- Experience working with specialized populations, including emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents, children, and families
