Criminalist

Responsibilities

• Supervise scientific laboratory analyses and testing of evidentiary material for criminal and civil investigations
• Oversee case management for incoming cases and evidence within assigned sections
• Maintain staff levels, schedule personnel, and supervise overtime for subordinates
• Conduct training of personnel and advise management on training needs
• Resolve technical issues and assess testing nonconformance
• Identify deviations from management systems or laboratory procedures
• Report on management system performance and recommend risk reduction actions

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in criminalistics, forensic science, chemistry, biology, physics, molecular genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, entomology, anthropology, ecology, or a related scientific field
• For Level IV: Four years of experience in criminalistics or forensic science, or a combination of education and experience
