Criminal Justice Science Faculty

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning within the Prison Education Program
• Prepare and submit syllabi in accordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters
• Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester (equivalent to a 40-hour work week)
• Travel to various correctional facilities across Ohio to provide face-to-face instruction
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide meetings

Requirements

• Master's degree in criminal justice or a related field
• Minimum of three years of professional experience
• Proficiency in teaching students with diverse learning styles
• Ability to teach face-to-face in a secure prison education setting
• Ability to pass a DRC background check
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful teaching experience at the college level
• Successful professional experience in the criminal justice field
