Crime Gun Intelligence Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) data entries and perform triage and image reviews.
• Enter crime gun traces into the ATF e-Trace database and manage NIBIN Enforcement Support System (NESS) entries.
• Enter evidence into the Integrated Ballistic Information Systems (IBIS) and perform ballistic image and correlation reviews.
• Maintain and update spreadsheets, charts, and reports with accurate data.
• Produce basic analytical products and summarize information in writing.
• Coordinate efforts with local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or 8 years of equivalent experience/training.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain ATF Public Trust Clearance.
• Ability to pass an ATF background investigation (including criminal history, credit, and drug use).
• Valid United States (U.S.) Driver’s License.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications and software.
• Ability to travel occasionally within the Continental United States (CONUS).
• Ability to pass competency testing for NIBIN equipment image and correlation reviews.

• General experience working with local, State, or Federal law enforcement agencies.
