Crew Foreman

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working leader providing direction and technical support to road maintenance crews
• Participate in road maintenance, repair, and specialized equipment operation
• Coordinate roadway and equipment repairs while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
• Assist the Roads Maintenance Supervisor with daily operational oversight, reporting, and documentation
• Inspect roads, drainage ways, and contractor work products to ensure compliance with County standards
• Establish job sites following safety rules and ensure efficient use of personnel, materials, and time
• Administer vegetation management programs, including chemical application and mowing coordination
• Maintain equipment inventory, estimate job requirements, and requisition necessary materials
• Train and instruct less experienced maintenance personnel on equipment and road maintenance techniques

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Five years of satisfactory experience as a Maintenance Worker III (within Clallam County Roads Department or equivalent)
• Proficient operation of specialized road maintenance equipment
• Strong knowledge of road maintenance techniques and safety procedures
