Crew Chief I - Construction Staking

Responsibilities

• Supervise survey crew employees and execute daily construction staking and field surveying tasks
• Read and interpret construction plans, including storm drainage, sewer tables, grades, and vertical curves
• Perform Boundary, Topographic, ALTA, and other surveys with limited instruction
• Identify plan, computation, and constructability issues early
• Communicate project status and field issues to group management
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work sites
• Assess hazards, enforce safety policies, and execute JHAs
• Mentor and train Junior Crew Chief members
• Prepare field notes and manage data files for office support staff
• Act as company representative during client and public interactions

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Core competencies of Instrument Operator Level II
• Knowledge of TDS Software, Trimble Robotics, GPS equipment, Carlson Software, and Leica Robotics
• Valid driver's license
• Successful completion of functional assessment, motor vehicle records check, and drug test
• Ability to work outdoors, stand or walk 8–12 hours daily, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
• Availability for overtime, weekends, overnight work, and travel as required
