Crew Chief I - Construction Staking

Responsibilities

• Supervise survey crew employees and ensure efficient, accurate field work delivery per company standards
• Perform construction staking, boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys with limited supervision
• Read and interpret construction plans including storm drainage, sewer tables, grades, and vertical curves
• Identify potential plan, computation, and constructability issues proactively
• Plan and execute projects efficiently while maintaining safety standards and JHA compliance
• Act as company representative during field client interactions and maintain positive relations
• Mentor and train junior crew members and provide clear direction to field staff
• Prepare field notes and manage data files for office support staff interpretation
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and work sites

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated Instrument Operator Level II core competencies
• Proficiency with TDS Software, Trimble Robotics, GPS equipment, Carlson Software, and Leica Robotics
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle records check, drug test, and functional assessment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, stand and walk 8–12 hours daily, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently (100 lbs occasionally)
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel as required
