Credit Risk Senior Officer (AVP)

Responsibilities

• Interface with and support bankers in underwriting requests for commercial credit extensions for new and existing clients.
• Prepare detailed written credit summaries by analyzing businesses, interpreting financial needs, and identifying risk factors.
• Perform detailed financial analysis on companies, including trend and ratio analysis, and interpret financial information.
• Conduct credit and personal financial statement analysis on individuals, guarantors, and co-borrowers to assess repayment capacity.
• Perform industry and geographical research and other due diligence as required.
• Maintain compliance with Citibank credit policies, regulatory policies, and internal procedures.
• Identify process improvements and efficiencies to reduce costs and improve customer service levels.
• Provide backup support to the Credit Underwriting Group Manager and mentor lower-level Credit Officers.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of previous credit authority experience, ideally in a regulatory and compliance policy environment.
• Advanced English communication skills (spoken).
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial statements, cash flow, and industry projections.
• Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate accounting theory and its application in credit underwriting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including the use of graphs, charts, and financial analysis software.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
