Credit Risk Officer

Responsibilities

• Assess, rate, and monitor the credit risk of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in developing markets.
• Conduct credit due diligence and participate in underwriting teams for new NHFO SOE transactions.
• Recommend appropriate credit risk mitigants or structural enhancements for transactions.
• Evaluate the financial strength and credit standing of reinsurance counterparties.
• Prepare written credit assessment reports and present rating recommendations to decision-making committees.
• Contribute to portfolio monitoring and the maintenance of MIGA’s risk limit management framework.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, MBA, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of solid experience in credit risk analysis involving corporates, financial institutions, SOEs, or reinsurance counterparties.
• Deep technical knowledge of credit rating methodologies and experience conducting bespoke credit analyses.
• Proven ability to assess transaction-related exposures in emerging markets.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with broader portfolio risk monitoring and risk framework governance.
• High level of AI literacy applied to risk management.
• Proficiency in Spanish or French.
