Credit Risk Manager

Responsibilities

• Define credit policy and underwriting strategy for second charge mortgages
• Own risk scoring and pricing, including scorecards and risk segmentation
• Drive growth by balancing credit policy with volume targets
• Manage IRR, NPV, and cashflow models to ensure asset economics
• Design automated decisioning logic and executable rules for the platform
• Collaborate with Capital Markets on funding strategy and investor parameters
• Inform property valuation and security processes
• Monitor portfolio performance and report to senior stakeholders
• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, and compliance teams

Requirements

• Deep experience in secured lending credit risk (second charge mortgages, bridging, or BTL)
• Strong knowledge of risk scoring, pricing frameworks, and credit policy
• Understanding of LTV covenants, property valuations, and investor criteria
• Commercial awareness with a focus on accept rates and broker conversion
• Familiarity with the end-to-end secured lending process
• Proficiency in SQL; Python experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of MCOB and FCA regulatory requirements
• Experience designing for scale and automated decisioning logic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with loan servicing, collections, and arrears management
• Exposure to broker distribution models
• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
• Experience with decisioning platforms or rules engines
