Credit and Collections Lead

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for OpenAI’s credit and collections function, including portfolio management, cash forecasting, and customer-risk monitoring.
• Own and continuously improve the credit-risk framework for new and existing customers, including risk assessments and credit limits.
• Drive global collections performance with a focus on improving cash collections, reducing aging, and optimizing DSO.
• Lead the resolution of complex, high-value customer escalations regarding billing disputes and payment delays.
• Define and execute the AI and automation roadmap to improve account prioritization, risk detection, and customer outreach.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Accounting, and Engineering to design scalable, automated workflows.
• Develop credit and collections policies, SOPs, and internal controls to ensure audit-ready processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, or Order to Cash operations in high-growth environments.
• Strong understanding of commercial credit risk, DSO management, reserves, and dispute resolution.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers and complex revenue models, including subscription and usage-based billing.
• Proven track record of using data, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve process efficiency and decision quality.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
