Credit Analyst

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing credit analysis of banks, insurance companies, and non-bank financial institutions in Mexico and the broader Latin American region
• Conduct detailed quantitative analysis of financial statements, regulatory metrics, economic indicators, and market data
• Produce high-quality, in-depth research reports covering issuers, credit trends, and sector-specific developments
• Develop clear and well-supported rating rationales and present analyses effectively at rating committees
• Actively monitor assigned portfolios and recommend timely and appropriate rating actions
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with issuers and investors through meetings and industry engagement
• Mentor and support the development of junior analysts and associates

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience in financial services with a focus on credit and risk assessment
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline
• Fluency in both English and Spanish
• Strong quantitative financial statement analysis skills
• Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and grammatically accurate written reports
• Ability to work effectively in time-sensitive and deadline-driven environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CFA
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience with process automation and data analysis to improve analytical workflows
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and their application in financial processes
