Credit Analyst (Commercial)

Responsibilities

• Analyze prospective customer profiles and make credit decisions for truck, construction, and coach market financing and lease transactions
• Support dealers, customers, and District Financial Managers by providing timely credit underwriting
• Adjudicate credit submittals and document decisions in writing according to established VFS credit policies and scoring methodology
• Interact with the sales force, dealers, and customers to negotiate transactions and communicate credit decisions
• Ensure accurate documentation, insurance, and security perfection requirements are met prior to sign-off
• Prepare written credit reviews and recommend credit lines for current and prospective customers
• Utilize pricing tools and T-Value to facilitate and negotiate revised deal structures
• Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to improve turnaround times and minimize risk

Requirements

• BA/BS in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience in the finance or credit industry
• Experience in small to mid-ticket commercial credit adjudication
• Proven record of structuring commercial transactions in an asset-based lending environment
• Proficiency in T-Value, financial spreading tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills, including financial statement and cash flow analysis and calculation of key financial ratios
• Thorough understanding of loan and lease documentation and security perfection procedures
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Captive Commercial Finance industry
• Bilingualism (French) written and verbal communication skills
