About the Company

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions such as national security, global connectivity, and disaster response.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Northwood’s visual identity to reflect the vision and ambition of the company
• Concept and art direct major external touch points including investor materials, announcements, and web presence
• Translate complex technical systems into clear, compelling visual narratives for diverse audiences
• Partner with the Head of Communications to align visual presence with company narrative
• Direct photo, video, and design production with external creatives and agencies
• Develop repeatable visual systems and frameworks to allow the company to scale output
• Act as a creative partner to leadership in high-stakes communication moments
• Establish and uphold a high bar for craft across all company outputs

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in visual design, brand, or art direction
• Proven experience defining and evolving visual identity systems
• Strong conceptual thinking and ability to execute across presentation, web, print, photo, and video
• Hands-on proficiency in design tools and workflows
• Experience directing external partners such as agencies, photographers, and filmmakers
• Ability to translate technical concepts into credible visual narratives
• Experience working closely with senior leadership or founders
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible under ITAR regulations
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week in Torrance, CA
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
