Crane Plant Fitter

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mobile, tower, and crawler cranes
• Diagnose faults and implement effective corrective measures
• Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity
• Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize downtime
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts utilized
• Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when required

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (e.g., HGV or Agricultural Maintenance)
• Proven experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or in a similar technical role
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and a commitment to safe working practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• A valid UK driving licence

Preferred Qualifications

• CPCS Card Holder or equivalent certification
• Experience with specific crane brands and models within a modern fleet
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Direct experience as a Plant Fitter within the hire industry or a construction company plant department
