Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear
• Attach loads to rigging using hand and power tools
• Connect pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment
• Select gear, shackles, and cables according to load size and work schedule
• Signal or give verbal directions to workers to ensure safety during hoisting
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before lifting
• Complete ProLift specific, regulatory, and equipment training

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CDL Class A or B required
• Strong communication and reasoning abilities
• Understanding of safety procedures and high safety awareness
• Willingness to travel
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification
• NCCCO Rigger certification
• TWIC card
