Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Receive metal and place it in appropriate areas
• Unload trucks and check material quality
• Transport car bodies and ferrous materials to shredder loading areas
• Transport bins of non-ferrous materials
• Load ferrous products for customers
• Perform material identification tests using magnets or other products
• Evaluate non-sellable items
• Conduct physical inventory of stock material
• Record material weights upon arrival and departure
• Perform routine machine maintenance including greasing and washing

Requirements

• Ability to drive and operate heavy equipment
• Competency card for construction machinery
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
• Minimum one year of experience in a similar role
• Strong focus on workplace Health and Safety
• Good priority-management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingualism is considered an asset
