Craft Fellow (Ceramics)

Responsibilities

• Dedicate approximately 80% of time to the production goals of the assigned ceramics craft area
• Provide mentoring and technical support to student labor
• Perform basic machine maintenance and setup for ceramics equipment
• Assist with daily and weekly shop upkeep and organization
• Prepare transfer/sales sheets and communicate with the Distribution Center
• Contribute to marketing and sales planning for the craft area
• Participate in new product design, prototyping, and a final independent capstone project

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of applicable experience in ceramics (professional, academic, or hobbyist)
• Familiarity with common ceramics tools, techniques, and machinery
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks (standing, sitting, hand/arm movements)
• Ability to work safely in environments that may be noisy, dusty, hot, or cold
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Successful completion of a required background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technical supervision or mentoring others in a craft setting
• Interest in contributing to a mission-aligned educational environment
