CPU Verification Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and design engineers to understand and verify new CPU features
• Build comprehensive test plan documentation covering CPU sub-units, SOC, and hardware/software use cases
• Develop directed and random verification tests to ensure architectural integrity
• Debug test failures to identify root causes and work with RTL design engineers to resolve defects
• Improve existing test bench setups and develop functional coverage properties
• Review functional and code coverage metrics and modify tests to meet requirements
• Use scripting and internal AI tools to improve productivity and solve technical challenges
• Mentor junior engineers within the verification team

Requirements

• 4 to 10 years of ASIC design verification experience
• Proficiency with Verilog or System Verilog HDL
• Strong programming skills in Perl, Python, Ruby, C, or C++
• Solid understanding of computer architecture and microprocessor design verification
• Experience working in a UNIX software environment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with x86, ARM, or other industry-standard microprocessor architectures
• Expertise in CPU cache or memory subsystem verification
• Strong understanding of modern out-of-order superscalar processor architecture
• Experience with assembly programming, preferably x86
• Familiarity with using AI tools in the design or verification workflow
• Experience in leadership or mentorship roles
