CPU Power Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform power analysis on projects involved in the development of CPUSS
• Conduct power characterization of various CPU benchmarks using tools such as PTPX and Joules
• Collaborate closely with RTL design, Synthesis, and physical design teams to measure and optimize power consumption
• Tabulate and analyze metric results for comparison
• Work with post-Silicon teams to correlate architectural projections with actual silicon power measurements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration experience
• OR a Master's degree in a related field with 1+ years of relevant ASIC experience
• OR a PhD in a related field
• Proven experience in power analysis and optimization
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl or Python
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low power implementation techniques during RTL, Synthesis, or Physical design stages
• Knowledge of low power intent concepts and languages, such as UPF or CPF
• Deep understanding of CPU micro-architecture and associated power challenges
