CPU Physical Design Engineer, Staff

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance and power-optimized custom CPU cores
• Handle complex hardening processes from RTL to GDS, including Synthesis, PNR, and Timing
• Manage floorplan to PRO and timing signoff
• Execute complex ECOs for timing convergence across large sets of corners using tools like Tweaker, Tempus, or Physical PT ECOs
• Implement methods to minimize power consumption and push PPA (Power, Performance, Area) to the highest possible extent
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet rigorous performance and energy efficiency requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in Physical Design and STA within the CPU domain
• Proficiency with industry-standard physical implementation tools such as Genus, Innovus, FC, PT, Tempus, Voltas, or Redhawk
• Strong understanding of IR drop and physical verification aspects
• Expertise in Perl and TCL programming languages
• Strong fundamentals in digital design and hardware engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep submicron process technology nodes
• Knowledge of high-performance and low-power implementation methodologies
