CPU Physical Design Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance and power-optimized custom CPU cores
• Handle complex hardening processes from RTL to GDS, including Synthesis, PNR, and Timing
• Manage floorplan to PRO and timing signoff
• Address IR drop and physical verification aspects
• Prepare complex ECOs for timing convergence across large sets of corners using tools like Tweaker, Tempus, or Physical PT ECOs
• Implement methods to minimize power consumption and push PPA (Power, Performance, Area) to the highest possible extent

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience (Master's degree with 1+ year experience or PhD is also accepted)
• Expertise in Physical Design and Static Timing Analysis (STA)
• Proficiency with industry-standard implementation tools such as Genus, Innovus, FC, PT, Tempus, Voltas, or Redhawk
• Strong fundamentals in hardware engineering
• Proficiency in Perl or TCL programming languages

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Physical Design and STA
• Experience working with deep submicron process technology nodes
• Knowledge of high-performance and low-power implementation methods
