CPU Microarchitect/RTL design Engineer, Senior/Staff

Responsibilities

• Explore high-performance strategies in collaboration with the CPU modeling team
• Develop microarchitecture specifications from high-level architectural exploration through detailed research
• Own RTL design development, assessment, and refinement to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
• Support functional verification teams in executing verification strategies
• Assist in performance verification to ensure RTL designs meet established goals
• Collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams to implement and validate physical design aspects including reliability, testability, and power

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture (e.g., instruction fetch/decode, branch prediction, out-of-order execution, cache/memory subsystems)
• Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL, including experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools
• Strong understanding of logic design principles and their implications on timing and power
• Knowledge of low-power microarchitecture techniques and high-performance trade-offs
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python
• Proven experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
