CPU Micro-Architecture and RTL Design Engineer (RISC-V)

Responsibilities

• Perform performance exploration by working with the CPU modeling team to identify high-performance strategies
• Lead microarchitecture development and specification from high-level architectural exploration through detailed specification
• Own RTL design development, assessment, and refinement to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
• Support functional verification teams in executing verification strategies
• Support performance verification to ensure RTL designs meet established performance goals
• Collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams to implement and validate physical design aspects including timing, area, reliability, and testability

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 4+ years of relevant work experience (or 3+ years with a Master's, or 2+ years with a PhD)
• Expertise in microprocessor architecture (e.g., instruction fetch/decode, branch prediction, out-of-order execution, or cache subsystems)
• Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL, including experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools
• Strong understanding of logic design principles and their implications on timing and power
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of low-power microarchitecture techniques
• Knowledge of high-performance techniques and trade-offs within CPU microarchitecture
