CPU Core Validation Sr Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans considering IP architecture and microarchitecture features
• Collaborate with CPU design and verification teams to develop CPU bring-up and functional validation test plans
• Develop validation methodologies and test contents for use on emulators during pre-Si phase and on Silicon
• Partner with SoC bring-up and software teams to plan CPU core feature bring-up and end-to-end validation
• Triage and debug failures on Silicon
• Develop testing strategies and contents to assist in the validation of CPU on silicon
• Work with verification teams to reproduce silicon failures on emulators and FPGAs
• Suggest and architect new debug features to improve future CPU bring-up processes

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• 12+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Silicon Validation and bring-up
• Proficiency in implementing assembly and C/C++ language embedded firmware
• Experience with software toolchains, including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles, and source code control tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of microprocessor architecture (Cache Coherence, Memory ordering, Prefetching, Branch Prediction, Renaming, Speculative execution, and Address Translation/Memory Management)
• Knowledge of Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and testing designs at the Block/Unit-level and Subsystem/Chip-level
• Experience writing comprehensive test plans and assembly code
• Ability to work independently on specific design blocks or units
