Counter Salesperson

Responsibilities

• Provide sales support to walk-in customers at Profit Centre counters
• Research products and provide recommendations to customers
• Drive sales growth through counter merchandising and product promotion
• Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
• Maintain and clean the counter area and merchandising displays
• Monitor stock levels and inform the buyer when levels are low
• Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide delivery dates
• Process returns and warranty claims in compliance with procedures
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints

Requirements

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
• Outstanding verbal communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to learn and operate order processing software
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Intermediate math skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to learn material handling equipment operation
• Strong work ethic and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of plumbing and building products
• Proficiency with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to use the Internet for problem-solving
