About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in customers with product inquiries, purchases, and recommendations
- Process, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing counter area and merchandising displays
- Monitor inventory levels and notify buyers when stock is low
- Follow up on backorders and communicate delivery timelines to customers
- Process returns and warranty claims in compliance with company procedures
- Identify leads for Outside Account Managers to support sales growth
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
- Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to learn and operate order processing software
- Intermediate math skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn material handling equipment operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of plumbing and building products
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Previous forklift experience
- Ability to use the internet for technical problem-solving
