About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with purchases at the Profit Centre counters
- Research products and provide recommendations to customers
- Drive sales growth through merchandising and product promotion
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
- Maintain and clean the counter area and merchandising displays
- Monitor stock levels and inform the buyer when levels are low
- Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide delivery dates
- Process returns and warranty claims in compliance with procedures
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of customer service or counter sales experience
- Strong verbal communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to learn and operate order processing software
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn material handling equipment operation
- Strong work ethic and integrity
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of plumbing and building products
- Proficiency in using the Internet for problem solving
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
