Counter Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage customers at the counter, via phone, and through email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert in plumbing, HVAC, and related products to guide customer purchasing decisions.
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote strategic products.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and seamless service delivery.
• Manage special orders, follow up on order status, and handle back-orders or delivery timelines.
• Maintain an organized counter environment and assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock organization.
• Perform occasional warehouse duties including receiving, shipping, and stocking.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales.
• A sales mindset with the ability to meet goals and build professional relationships.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Digital literacy and the ability to learn new computer systems and manufacturer databases quickly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Plumbing or HVAC industry knowledge is preferred.
