Counter Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Engage customers proactively at the counter, via phone, and through email to understand needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert in plumbing, HVAC, and related products to guide customer purchasing decisions.
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote strategic products.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and seamless service delivery.
• Manage special orders and follow up on order status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and maintaining an organized counter environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and proper use of required PPE.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in customer service or sales.
• A strong sales mindset with the ability to meet goals and influence purchasing decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Digital literacy and the ability to learn new computer systems and manufacturer databases quickly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the plumbing or HVAC industry.
