About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with purchases at the Profit Centre counters
- Research products and provide recommendations to customers
- Drive sales growth through merchandising and product promotion
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders
- Maintain and clean the counter and merchandising areas
- Monitor stock levels and inform the buyer when low
- Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide delivery dates
- Process returns and warranty claims
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints
- Perform receiving and forklift operation tasks
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of customer service or counter sales experience
- Strong verbal communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to learn order processing software
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of plumbing and building products
- Proficiency with M3, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to use the internet for problem-solving
