Counsel/Senior Counsel, Corporate Strategy

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel to the Corporate Strategy function regarding climate, sustainability, and enterprise-wide matters
• Manage disclosure risk and provide legal support for multi-jurisdiction mandatory non-financial information disclosure workstreams
• Develop briefing papers and advise on materials presented to internal governance forums and executive leadership
• Monitor and provide guidance on litigation, enforcement trends, and regulatory developments impacting mandatory disclosures
• Advise on policies, strategies, and advocacy efforts
• Partner with and help manage outside counsel to support business objectives

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and Bachelor's degree
• Admission to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly developed organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-focused environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of a federal judicial clerkship
• Minimum of 5 years of sophisticated legal experience
• Experience in complex litigation
• Experience in the oil and gas industry
• Experience providing legal counsel to business partners
