Requirements
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field, Licensed in Ohio (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, or Psychologist), Experience with adolescent and young adult populations, Strong oral and written communication skills
About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide phone screenings, intake evaluations, and individual and group counseling to students
- Deliver training and clinical supervision for master’s interns or doctoral practicum counselors
- Offer crisis intervention and serve in an emergency on-call capacity as needed
- Provide training and consultation to the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, and parents
- Participate in assessment and evaluation activities using a population health model to adapt services
- Collaborate with campus constituencies and serve on university committees to support student success
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited program in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Licensed in Ohio to provide mental health treatment (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, or Licensed Psychologist)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the developmental and psychological issues of college students
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies and marginalized groups
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Values compatible with the mission of John Carroll University
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed in Ohio to provide clinical supervision (LPCC-S, LISW-S, or Licensed Psychologist)
- Prior experience working in a college counseling center
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse clients and interest in identity and culture issues
