Counselor/Psychologist

Responsibilities

• Provide phone screenings, intake evaluations, and individual and group counseling to students
• Deliver training and clinical supervision for master’s interns or doctoral practicum counselors
• Offer crisis intervention and serve in an emergency on-call capacity as needed
• Provide training and consultation to the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, and parents
• Participate in assessment and evaluation activities using a population health model to adapt services
• Collaborate with campus constituencies and serve on university committees to support student success

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
• Licensed in Ohio to provide mental health treatment (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, or Licensed Psychologist)
• Demonstrated knowledge of the developmental and psychological issues of college students
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies and marginalized groups
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Values compatible with the mission of John Carroll University

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed in Ohio to provide clinical supervision (LPCC-S, LISW-S, or Licensed Psychologist)
• Prior experience working in a college counseling center
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse clients and interest in identity and culture issues
