About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychological assessments, ongoing treatment, and clinical consultation for student patients.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for Psychology and Social Work practicum students.
  • Deliver specialized clinical and outreach services using an affirmative, sex-positive, and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency and crisis situations on campus.
  • Collaborate with the Identity-focused Counselor to support LGBTQIA+ identity issues within the college community.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Complete administrative tasks and departmental research as required to support Student Counseling Services.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-approved program and internship.
  • 2-3 years of clinical experience.
  • Licensed to practice as a psychologist in the state of Connecticut (or eligible for licensure).
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision and training within a practicum student program.
  • Demonstrated experience serving diverse and traditionally underserved populations, including LGBTQIA+, international, and disabled students.
  • High integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a college mental health setting.
